Trigger Coil Operation

My 02 ZXdoes not have any spark. I'm following the doo service manual and everything is checking out fine until the voltage check on the trigger coil. I am not getting any reading from the coil when pulling it over. I put new (used) triggers in it. They check out fine for the resistance reading but do not have any voltage.

The stator checks out within spec per the manual.

Does anyone have any idea why the triggers would not pu out a voltage?

a standard volt meter cannot be used when testing these.^^^^ The voltage spike is too fast for the typical DVOM to catch. More than likely it's the MPEM.

I do have a used MPEM for an 02 summit if you are interested.

I know its a little late to post but i had the same problem with mine when i instaled a rer kit my triggers were backwards. I pulled the motor over an i had spark

With rer one of the trigger coils has a blue wire in the pack and the other one has a green one in the pack. I always remember..."blue up and she won't run"... The coil with the blue wire needs to be on the bottom. No spark could be a bad kill switch too. Good luck!

Ps. I have an mpem and tether from an 02 800 Mxz also if that's the problem. No dpm though.
