Looking for the best bike to convert to snow.
Im looking into 2010-2014ish bikes. I will be running a 2016 ts 137. Im leaning towards kawasaki just because thats what i used to ride. However im open to all brands. I want to know the good bad and ugly of all.

I leaning towards a 13 kawi 450 thats near me. Only downfalls ive heard is no electric start and air forks.

Every time I ride with a guy who doesnt have electric start I see a man who has serious regrets.

Make sure you have Estart! Fuel injection is also pretty much a must.

I ride a 2014 which has both, so it is within your price range (450SXF)

I agree unless you put a rekluse clutch on it ! I ride a 16 YZ and it was a pain until I did

Thats why I say a 18 YZ 450 . Has E start / EFI and the best air box location for a snowbike

If you have to have a 4 stroke, Good deals can be had on a 350, they start well and it's the best 4 banger hands down in the dirt. The 13k Rev limiter makes them a really good snow bike.

14-17 YZ is an awesome platform that are pretty damn cheap, just no e-start. the 13-15KTM 450 sx/xcf's are awesome bikes to convert and can be had at reasonable prices as well. Im a die hard yamaha guy, but the magic button is pretty damn handy.

I agree. E start and fuel injection are a must as well as a 450. Especially on a 137. I ride a 14' sxf 450 with a 120 aro, great bike. I would really take a good look at the new yzf 450. E start, fuel injection,
Great motor, programmable mapping, air box up high and wrap a round exhaust would keep temps up and easy to shroud.

I have a Yamaha yz 450 works great and makes good power - I also like that it is easy to relocate the footpeggs back on the aluminium frame to achieve much better bike balance. On the other hand the KTm 450 XCF has a mellower bottom end a little less in the middle but awesome top end it is by far the nicest snowbike engine and the extra over-rev really works well to pull the next gear or a line without shifting or hitting the rev limiter the lower weight is noticeable as well.
Not sure it is enough though for me to jump ship just yet.
