Hi i was just wondering if anyone could give some input on my question here. Im thinking of buying a stock 1998 600 xlt 136 track for lake racing and stuff like that. My question is would it beat a stock 1998 600 powder extreme 136 track that i also might be thinking of buying? I know both engines run reliable when stock, but i was just wondering which would prevail?

I have both a '94 XLT 133" and a '98 powder extreme. IMO, the cat will probably put a whippin' on the polaris. I know my '94 was only a 580 and the '98 is a 600, and I'm sure that polaris made some improvements over the years, but that little cat triple really hauls the mail on the top end.

the polaris is way better in loose snow in the trees, but the xlt 600 engine is too light weight and the cranks break when you pipe them and run them hard. The arctic cat engine is way more durable and powerful, the sled is heavier, but for racing on flat I would definately go arctic cat zrt 600 (triple).
