Many gen 2 features began in as early as 96 with crc front and bb engine . 97-98 rmks are the same as 99 with the exception of the plastic body work so this may leave some looking for ansers in the rong place.
This is going to bo hard gen 1 gen 2 over lap

yes but technicly 96-98 big block twins are gen2 sleds with wedge body work .
Agreed, it's not perfect. What about Agressive and Evolved chassis models?
It just helps to organize things a little better and let people look at stuff that pertains more to what they own (ie. Theres a lot of commonality between an IQ sled and my XLT
