It's so crazy that we haven't seen any snowflakes in Laramie yet this fall, seems like it's close to 2 months later than usual.

I sure hope things get rolling soon! On the idaho/wyoming boarder we have had snow on the peaks the last few days but we had more snow in JULY then we have gotten so far in Oct.
The longer it takes to get the riding started....the more money I spend on my sled......ugh Eric

Keeping my fingers crossed for another year like 2010-2011..

Look at the dates ... especially 11-9:face-icon-small-hap

It's from the north french creek snotel.

I remember seeing the snow level on 11-10 and thinking -no way... drove up to check and the truck and trailer never made it to the gate, stuck headlight deep on the highway

I just missed that crazy year, moved to Laramie that following summer. There was so much snow left in the snowies in August that just about every road beside the highway wasn't accessible. Would love to experience a winter like that.

SNOW!! Yeah!!

SNOW!!!
4-5" of high water content snow above 9800' on the Laramie side.
Maybe a couple inches right below Green Rock.
Brooklyn Lake Road "might" rideable for break in miles if you are desperate.
Was up there for work so did not make it up to Libby Flats or the Peaks.

Yesterday we loaded up and drove to Sand Lake via Arlington for a road ride. Trucks have driven down just about every road, so it wasn't great but still fun. SledHead685 got some break in miles on his new pistons and I got to tune my girlfriend's 03' RMK carbs. We went up last year on November 5th and it was pretty pathetic, this time around the snow was much heavier and kept the skis off the rocks really well. Too bad it's going to be so warm before another storm comes in!

Just outta curiosity what did you do with your truck once it got stuck? Just leave it and ride? I've gotten lucky enough to always follow a plow up, but I always wondered what I would do if we got stuck on a highway or even just a gravel road.

If you're worried about it, carry tire chains. Get stuck, go ride, come back, chain up, drive out, go to Bear Tree. Or dig the truck out, that's more work though!

Always bring a friend... and a tow rope... and shovels..... and a chainsaw..

& a sleeping bag.

Normally If I'm breaking trail to go snowmobiling I'll stop long before I get stuck and get turned around.

The time I referenced above we weren't going riding just checking it out.

Never leave a rig stuck on the road it plows can get past they will bury it and call a tow truck leaving u with a $$ big bill
