IDCatMan3 This is a 1300 PSI Motor. I believe the sled was originally a thundercat 1000 triple. It is brand new PSI jugs and crank. Pretty much the motor is all new, its never had oil in it. It sits in a band new 05 King Cat chassis that has never seen snow!

Your 1500 looks good! Sounds sweet as well. Gotta Love big Triples!

The 800 crankcase is the same as the 1000, the crank itself is not. It is possible to put 1000 cylinders on the 800, but I believe you have to shim them up a bit. The stroke on the 800 is longer.

I believe there were kits to bore or replace cylinders on the old triples to go up to 1400ccs, but I don't know who did them, or if you could even still get one.

My motor isn't even based on a T-cat. It's two 900 twin engines cut apart and welded into a triple, then bored to take the M1000 piston. Makes it a 1460.

You can only take 1000 jugs to 1107 they run good and pistons are readily available from weisco.

Very nice, hope the PSI stuff works good for you, I know a lot of people didn't like them much.

If you have a bunch of money to burn, and hate building pipes, I believe JAWS makes some that should fit right in the chassis with no issues, and if you change the jackshaft motor mount to one from a '03+ 600 1M, the motor should bolt right in as well.

Yea the motor is already bolted in. Its just plug and play from here. Yea the Jaws pipes are expensive! But hey for quality, you cant complain. The only pipe that will give us fits is the PTO cylinder. We have an idea how to bend it, but we will get it on a dyno to make sure we are not changing the tone to much!

I have ridden some of PSIs other motor, nothing this big though. We will see what happens with it.

just finished mine up.

98 motor stock
03 1M bulkhead with VE tunnel
m7 skid
CPC front with m series floats

Rode it this weekend, need some help with clutching if anyone has some ideas.

I have a 53/49 with black/white D&D or team not sure, primary is stock I believe. Does not feel like its shifting correct at all.

Ill try and post some gopro footage later.

gearing

Video off some tree riding.

What gear set are you running?? From the sound of the engine, it sounds like it is laboring pretty hard.. I think with some more skid adjustments and a track change you will be amazed how well that thing will perform. A little heavy yes but with the right mods both to the engine and suspension she be fine...
Nice job by the way...

Thanks. I think most of my problem is the pto cylinder was to rich, 370,350,350 jetting. EGTs were 850, 1050, 1050 wide open. I also found a billet 57/53 helix ill try. And what do you mean changing the skid? Like location or tension? I alss have a K-mod coil over setup to put in it to.

I was rather impressed though for being a triple it boondocked realy good, carving down hill or up hill. The attack 20 backwards just plain ole sucks in powder too. Im going for a power claw 153 or 162, havnt decided yet. I think the longer the better with this one... Still not bad for having less than $1500 in it. Now time on the other hand...

I think if you were to run the 08 to 11 skid would be better (less weight) and where the front skid arm mounts in the tunnel lower it about 3/4" and let the limiter straps out and add an anti-stab kit would make her pop up on the snow better. If you get a power claw get the 2.6 or at least the 2.5 camo extreme... This what I had intended to build but with limited space
(no shop) I bought a 08 M1K with 294 mi. on it but trust me,, at some point I will put a 1M triple together and make the suspension changes to make it handle MUCH better and will sell the M. The 1M plat form has a lot of room for cheap mods that will allow it to perform nearly as good as what is out there today. You just have to step back and take a good long look at it with the hood off............

Why would ypu put a steeper helix in it? It isnt back shifting you need a shallower helix try to find a straight cut 49* and put a Cutler red white spring or a cat green white in the secondary so it will hold a lower gear and actually backshift.

helix: stock 02 mountain cat triple is a 63* or something crazy. It had a strait 49* in it originaly. Ive got a friend that is bringing me a few billet helixes and a spring or two to try out.

As for the suspention, 08-11 would be perfect but expensive. It is already in the lower hole because Im running the m-series floats. I think a lot of the staying on top of the snow is the POS A-20. Thinking about going with a 156 CE.

If you go 156 change drivers and go 3",, I think you can go 16" wide as well..

drivers

Its all ready 3.0 pitch. 16 wides blow enless you are in 3 feet of powder. JMO

What I was saying was if you go 156 go with the 3" or three inch track I know they have 3.0 drivers, and as far as the track width, being shorter than 162 inch if you go wider you really don't lose much in compared traction... Either way, you have the power to turn the newer tracks so why not get a good one?

springs helix

Your really close on the set-up.
I was running 19/39 for gearing with yellow green primary and yellow secondary with straight 49 helix but with highmark roller secondary.
Thunder weights really made all the difference could load them up and get really good track speed. Was running a modded 1000 over your stock set-up so this might be off a little for you.Had the attic 20 backwards and it did great in the powder.Again track speed.Had the 09 suspension under it also.
