Maybe a silly question but when using an alignment bar, where in the primary do you rest or set it against? I see two options and the manuals are not specific.

1) set totally flat on primary clutch shaft
2) set against the vertical face of sheeve right before the angle changes (where the belt rides) Bar would be above the shaft fillet and slightly off the shaft

Seems like #1 you get into the fillet radius on the shaft?

Thanks for the help!

you should actually be holding the bar on the fixed sheave on the secondary and looking where it rests in the primary...

Thanks White Rad,

Roger that on the secondary. So where should the bar be touching on the primary?

Laying flat on the shaft (the primary shaft's fillet radius would be next to the right of the bar)

OR

The RH edge of the bar touching the (perpendicular to the shaft)flat on the primary sheeve? Or somewhere else? Thanks!
