Axys clutching with kurts gear down kit HELP

Alright fellas. I've got a 16 800 pro, 155 x 2.6. Sled has slp pipe and can, zolinger clutch cover, Kurt's Gear down kit. I cannot for the life of me get the sled to pull rpm's consistently at elevation. I ride from 6-10k feet. I have tried kurts helix in the pre 2016 slot with 66 and 64 gram Polaris weighs in the primary. 120/320 Polaris primary spring and black and purple secondary spring. Does anyone have a setup that will pull AND HOLD rpm at 8-10k ft? Today I was riding at 8300ft and it was pulling anywhere from 7600-8100 rpm at WOT, but nothing consistently. People are telling me that I need to drop to 62 gram weights but SLP recommends 68's. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Are you using the MTX Weights from slp?

At your elevation and with an SLP pipe I have used either of these combinations to pull 8200-8400 RPM:

Stock primary spring
10-64s
Black/purple secondary
Stock 40 degree helix

SLP blue/pink primary
68 gram MTX weight with three gram rivet in tip
Black/purple secondary
Stock 40 degree helix

I don't know what effect the lower gearing would have on this. Doesn't Kurts have a clutch kit to go with their lower gearing? Two grams heavier on whatever weights they recommend for stock should work with the SLP pipe.

Thanks for the info. I will double check with kurts today.

hows your shift out ?? are you getting full shift? if so, you could try black/white secondary 160/260 IMHO I would try 2 grams less weight and check to see if both clutches are getting full shift out, I usually try and test all this on the hill where i ride btw, just take all the tools up there for the day and have at it. We have even set up secondaries and carried them along to try lmao

Just another thought, noticed the zolinger clutch cover, are you 100% that its allowing the primary to get fully to the bottom of the sheave?? or that its not hanging up along the way ?? I'd do a back to back test with the stock cover that came with the clutch and see if it changes anything, did you re shim the spider when installing that new cover ??

Found a difference

So I was told 100% positive that the secondary spring was a black/purple when I bought the sled. Well I pulled it apart tonight and it's a black/white. I put a new black/purple in the secondary and left the 10-64's the same in the primary. I also pulled the Kurt's helix out and put the stock 40 back in it. Gonna run up to 8300 ft tomorrow and make a few pulls
See what changes.

Curt builds his clutch kits around the stock weights so don't change your weights. He also builds it to work hand in hand with the gear down kit. Since your secondary spring isn't what you were told it was then hopefully that's an easy fix to get your RPMs back to where they need to be.

black purple is 160/240, so it will allow faster shift out over the black white 160/260, Whats the helix angle on the kurts one ? only change one thing at a time as you won't know if the spring or the helix helped/hurt it

More

Went and made some pulls from 7500-7950 today. Track speed I feel picked up and the sled is pulling better. R at the bottom of the hill, 7500 ft, we're 8250-8300. As I hit the top and the steepest part, she fell to 8050-8100 and the skis came up and we did the wheelie 180. Going to put a set of 62's and kurts helix back in it and try it out tomorrow.
