08 M1000 sno-pro
Weight- 240lbs with gear
3 Arm clutch
060 belt
7000 to 9000 feet
75-85 g Cutler Quick Shift with no added weight
Stk yellow white primary spring

Cutler Secondary Convert- 42-36 helix, red-white in middle hole

RPM about 7350- 7400 WOT climbing to about 9000'.
Trackspeed unknown, sorry forgot to look.

Did the secondary convert first, sled performed a bit smoother but not as 'spectacular' as some people mentioned. Lost about 400rpm out of the motor running that 060 belt and the stock 80gram weights. Called Cutler to see what they thought, they recommended me to swap in my quick shift weights I had and run the 3/8" set screws. That got me about 200rpm on the engine. Later removed all set screws and ran strong at that perfect rpm.

Kinda wanting to run the 046 belt and add some weight to the heels of those quick shifts. Might re-shim the primary to start though and go from there.
Engagement rpm is about 4000. Would like to see it a lot lower.

ypipe and can

Y pipe & jaws can
Running Dalton Adjustable primary weights and 84.8g at 7000ft
pulling 7200 - 7300 RPM's
EVERYTHING stock...springs helix etc....
clutches are warm to the touch after many pulls.
set up runs perfect! I wouldnt spend another dime on it
backshift....seems good to me!
compared it to the exact 2008 sled with lighter primary weights and steeper helix, couldnt tell the difference at all, his primary weight was to light, spanked his ***..

maybe harder rollers...in the future.
200miles so far this year and LOVE it

boosted1 i see you are running a y pipe and can are you using a boondocker box.I`ve got the same sled 08 sno pro 1000 jaws can and d&d ypipe does any body knows if i need to run a boondocker box

Im running the RKT secondary and keep recking my backshift rollers, am I twisting it to far when I put it together or what? anyone have any info? How far do you have to turn the spring when you put the 4 nuts on? 90deg.?
thanks Im ready to give up.

It depends on which hole your running the spring, but wiith the spring in the middle hole I would guess that you would turn the cover around 90 degrees. I would change my roller to black diamond hard rock or high torque brand rollers. The stock rollers are soft, and will get flat spots quickly especially if you are running a stiff spring or have a lot of heat in your secondary (which I think most everyone does).

If you are ruining rollers then your clutching is off. Sure, the stockers are soft, but if your clutch right they should last at one season of serious abuse. I'd venture to guess that if your running a T-kit secondary most are running to light of secondary spring...

I have rockhard rollers and the snopro green spring. I have tried the middle hole, to slow of up shift. The second to middle seemed to work the best but it damaged a set of rollers. any ideas? could it possibly be the distance from the diamond drive and its pulling on the wrong side of the clutch, anyone have some measurments I could use to check with?

slp flowrites throughout sled
D&D bullseyes throughout sled
046 belts
all hood weight and ducting removed

Pulls 74-7500rpm all day long even after numerous long pulls with feet of fresh. No clutch issues whatsoever not even flattened rollers like people mention. Only problem is last ride reverse on diamond drive fugged up and warranty past by a week and dealer out here tells me fork out cash from my pocket to fix. What a crock of crap,oh yah a lil bog/stumble at lower rpms because I think power valves are not reacting quick enough. This problem just needs to be tuned out other than that sled flat out rocks. Works so well going to keep it another year as its paid for and probably a big bore 12 kit with nos or a turbo going on it. Maybe better yet a turbo 12 kit with the juice.

Would love to see some more m1000 clutching setups after another full season with these sleds on the snow.

Thanks!

General thoughts about the performance
This setup is finally working and works up and down the mountain and consistant, Had a boondocker fuel controller seemed inconsistant while going up and down in elevation, clutching was also inconsistant with other setups in varying snow conditions, I believe the gearing is one major factor and the Torsion setup is also good but I could not get anything to work decent till I got the M8 Gear Ratio. I believe now that this is the way to go for clutching.

I am running the 07 with the 08 mapping. With the Y pipe and BMP can.

I believe stock fuel pressure is in the 45psi range. Mine burned down with 48.5psi. So my suggestion is you better run a controler or fuel pressure regulator.

didn't want to hyjack the thread.

Back to the main topic!!

General thoughts about the performance: pulls hard, runs 7460RPM at 7000ft altitude, engagement lower than 4 post w/69g weights. doesn't seem as snappy as it was with the 4 post.

any suggestions on what to do? I am thinking about going to heavier weights, but what else should I look at?

After three days of riding here's my setup so far. I will be adding more soon enough:

2008 Sno Pro M1000 153"

Stock ti y/w 83g three post primary
Stock ti orange and straight 36 helix.
only changed the belt to an 046 which helped me pickup 200 rpms.

Pulls very hard for a stock sled, spinning around 7300 rpms at 7000ft. rpms do bounce a bit and not to consistant. every sled i raced this weekend i beat, even a piped 07 M1000. I think i'll be trying a torsion kit with a stiff spring (SP green) and a straight 36 to try and keep things more consistant. Very impressed with the power so far, and i will definitely be increasing it! :D

Mods to come:

SLP pipe set
BDX Black boxx
BD box
