My buddy wants to part out his wifes 99 Powder Special, but we're not sure he will get any more money by parting out instead of selling it whole, do you guys think he could get 1500 by parting it out?

Right now on ebay there is a brand new (new-not rebuilt) ZRT 600 motor for $1500. Last year I saw good running 600 twins go for $600-$800. There is also a brand new 600 twin motor on ebay.

If it is still in good running condition with about 5000 miles or less it would only be worth about 1200-1500 max here in MN. I currently own one so I tend to watch them. Not sure about his situation but having it around as an extra sled to beat on or as a spare is what I would do with it. There are so many parts out there for these sleds I don't see them bringing much more than selling it outright and not to mention it would be a TON of work. Just me .02 though:beer;
