hey guys.. quick question. what type of metal are the stock lower a arms made out of on a 2013 xm summit x ?

I disagree... that's the S mod that's made from tin foil, the A arms are made from solid iron!!
It's just steel tube.

ok. a friend of mine bent his lower a arm. i was thinking i could replace the bent piece for him and weld it in. just making sure it's not chromoly?
Nope. Definitely not.
Can't see why welding him a new tube would be a bad thing, just don't over do it as far as strength... if anything I'd go down in wall thickness a tad. Making the A arm too strong will cause the impact to do damage to other parts.
