Haven't had occasion to take my can out of my M7 for several years. Dropped a pipe spring under it while fighting my PV servo problem last ride. Took the can out and discovered the rubber mount bushing were eaten through and my mounting holes are all hogged out. I assume I need to have these welded up and redrilled. Question: Is this a regular maintenace item? Do I need to replace those rubber mounts every year? Anyone else had this problem?

Any help would be appreciated!

You can just replace the rubber grommets. I can't imagine the frame holes are actually ruined. They are quite large and the grommets sort of snap in. You need (2) of p/n 1612-873.

The rubber bushings on my wifes old Powder Special aren't even worn...I don't think this is common. Was something not tightened enough or something?
