Default 2018 clutches on 2015 M8000?

Anyone know if the 18 team clutches will directly bolt onto 2015 crank and jackshaft?

Wondering if they are direct replacement?

Primary is. Secondary is not. Would require changing the jackshaft, or jus use a tied secondary on your jackshaft.

What were you getting with the stock clutches for belt life? I am just over 1200 miles on my original belt in my 15 800, and I am not exactly easy on it, so just curious.

I think its the primary that lasts longer, less maintenance. I would run a 17 primary and leave the cat secondary if I had a pre-16 sled. 17s are solid, couple choices on belts, lots less $$. no annoying slippage in reverse like the 18+ setup.

The jackshaft/clutch interface is completely different on a 2015 than it is on a 2018. So the secondary will not even bolt up. If you change the jackshaft out too, then you can put the 2018 clutches on the 2015.

I think there are a few guys who have claimed to have gotten their deflection set tight enough with the older style secondary to be able to run the 2018 primary with it. Whether it was enough to get absolutely tight and take full advantage of the 2018 primary, I don't know. My primary was needing a rebuild and the secondary was starting to get worn and bind, so I replaced it with a Tied secondary setup and mated it to a 2018 primary on my 2014. That I know works.

Better durability on the primary. Performance wise the 2018+ primary has smoother engagement and lower take-off gear since the belt is run tight. Top end performance I'd give the edge to the older setups. Just felt like the secondary shifted out further. Unless your clutches are getting worn out and due for rebuild/replacement I wouldn't make it a priority to change them over. For the cost the difference doesn't carry a huge wow factor IMO.
