Sad News about Jackson Hole 40th Cancelled.

Due to lack of snow no World hill climbing this year.

I was pump I figured it would be great with lack of snow to watch carnage. All in all what a crappy year .

Just an FYI, not cancelled because of the lack of snow. Cancelled because of the safety hazard of the avalanches they have been having with the warm weather.

Regardless of the reason, I'm pretty bummed about it too. I had rooms reserved for 3 months and some vacation time set aside. Normally I would just go sledding instead, but with our current snowpack I'm not enthused about that either.

Wow, this SUCKS... makes me feel better about our snowpack in CO though, guess we're doing well in comparison, just have to get up high.

This was day before yesterday... pretty awesome still (the windblown spots are always there btw... we never get "full" coverage, even on a good year)

Hard to imagine how much of a loss this is for the community, places are losing bookings they've had for months, it would really suck to be a hotel owner there right now.

Yep go figure. Finally committed going this year after talking about it the last few years. Skipped Expo. Bummed!!!! Vacation is booked and the work computer is going in for warranty works so riding somewhere. Keep an eye on the forecast and go wherever it snows, if that even happens! Sucky year.........................

-I heard on the radio cbs or whatever that it is cancelled due to avalanche danger

--Maybe they got too much snow??
