I'm running the stock 63.0 gram weights, yellow/white primary spring, and blue secondary spring on my 2015 HCR.

I'm struggling to hit 8100 RPM. Especially when we were in the Snowies it could barely hit 8000 RPM.

Any clutching kits or suggestions? Is 8250 RPM ideal?

8250 with a stock exhaust is a bit high. They drop off quick after peak. Seems that 8100 was ideal up to 2011, then the pipe changed a bit to fit the proclimb chassis in 2012. I think 8000 is more in the ballpark on a stock 800 proclimb sled from the dyno sheets I remember seeing.

How many miles on sled?

Check your belt. Might be wore enough to not get full rpm. If not, grind a gram off the 63's. Your pretty close anyway. Just do what I do. Ride. And don't look at the gauge too much. Lol.

MDS weights don't work well above 10000ft on a stock M8. Seen it on 4 different sleds now, even owned them myself. You should be hitting RPM with the 63g weights in the snowies. You probably have a lazy secondary. I had mine replaced after the first ride on my 15 since it wasn't backshifting properly or holding above 8K rpm. Runs great now. I ground my weights down to a little above 62g on my 14 and 15 and I hit 8100-8200rpm in pow at 10-11.5K ft. I use a speedwerx 120/310 spring with Thunder products glide washers on each end. I hate the stock yellow/white spring. Too high of engagement and doesn't pull rpms as well/consistent as the speedwerx spring. I run an 083 belt. Never liked the 084 belt once it got hot.

As said don't discount a wore out belt. I think the 084 gets worse the more ware it has. And like CO 2.0 said, worse with heat. I'm going to try a 083 when it's time to change next; although I'm slightly worried because my clutches are a tad hotter running 20/50 gearing. Never have blown a 084, knock on wood!!!!

What RPM does this setup engage at? Are the speedwerx spring rates A/C or Polaris?

I dunno if it was the fact my 084 had 550+ miles or that we finally had some decent snow, about 1.5' of fluff, but on my second to last ride I noticed my rpms sometimes dropping to between 7950-8050 after working her for a bit with all stock clutching so I threw in a 120-310 slp spring I had laying around for the next ride. According to slps site this spring measure 110-300 in cat measurements, it got my rpms back up to around 8200 on top but engages at a nice smooth 3900ish rpm. If it was the miles on the belt that brought my rpm down im hopin I won't be over revving now with a new belt.

CO 2.0 and others running the 083 belt, what differences have you noticed vs. The 084 performance wise and longevity wise? What kind of adjustments did you need to make from the 084 to the 083? Searchin around on here it seems some folks love it and some folks hate, but at less than half the cost of the 084 its very tempting to try the next time I need a belt.

I'm running an SLP blue/silver (130/290), with glide washers. Engagement is super smooth at 4100/4200ish. The 084 belt I replaced probably had close to a 1,000 miles. Ran it on my 13 prior to using on my 14. The last ride with that belt the rpms were low and didn't hold well. Put a new belt on, needed a big change in the deflection adjustment; can't remember the exact ring combo. Next ride, noticeable difference in sled performance and held consistent RPMs, around 8,150. Just my experience.

I'm guessing I have about 825 miles on my original 084 belt on my 900 pro-lite. Slowly been shimming the belt deflection as it wears. Was taching 8300 in the setup snow two weekends ago and had to add primary weight to get it back down to 8150. Really wish I had gotten the time to install my steeper 44/38 helix before that weekend. 42/36 is what I have been running. Should be able to see how it does this weekend. I'm starting to notice some slight inconsistency with shifting so it may be time to put that belt in the spare slot.

During my post ride inspection I noticed about a 2" section missing the cord on my 650 mile belt so just to be safe I swapped it with my new 084 spare. I had to go from the two thickest washers to the thickest and thinnest and it still might be a bit tight. I think I might give the 083 a try once this ones worn, probably won't be til next season though, don't know how much more riding we'll have here its supposed to get up near 70* over the next week.
