Any one out there that has a SLP pipe and can that burn down?

I have a 09 800, all the engine up dates done 200 miles ago, installed the pipe and can as per slp and this last weekend burn down the mag side.

Any input would be helpfull.

I just lost my 09 800 Dragon Mag side as well. I am all stock and had updates.
Did you notice anything before in went down. Mine was idling low then I had a check engine then it went. Funny part is that I lost my wifes 09 700 RMK Mag side 2 days before that. And yes I do warm my machine up before I ride them. Thank god the 800 is still under warrenty, not so lucky with the 700. I have it torn down and waiting on parts. This seems to still be a problem with Polaris sleds. I hear once this happens it will repeat again. I wonder if anyone has done well after a rebuild and what caused it to happen.

I put on a PCV and have had to modify the SLP map significantly. Pistons looked great after last w/e even after having to tow a sled out 12 miles. Even with overheating the coolant.

slp map

could you please elaoborate on that? where did you add/subtract fuel and how much?? it would sure help me. added pc3 with SLP map/exhaust, gained a few rpms on top otherwise it runs worse, terrible dead spot in the mid-range.

Each sled will be different. That is why generic maps don't work on anything. We spent 3 weekends getting SkiBreezes sled dialed in and we noticed 1 major thing. The sled does not compensate for altitude and temp very well. It will run perfect one day and need adjusting the next.

Buy a wideband a/f gauge and get familiar with the PC5. If you want your sled to run good your going to have to take the bull by the horns. People cant rely on folks in another state to get their sleds running right. We all ride in different conditions.

might try a new air temp sensor on it..seems like we lost quite a few of them on the 08's due to excessive moisture from the bad headlite seals...sleds ran really inconsistent, replaced the air temp sensors and much more consistent..(they read to spec on digital wrench as well)...
Now I will say this..seems like once ambient air temps hit somewhere around +30 degrees the mapping goes to crap, and have a tendency to go lean..not just in the midrange but even up top..polaris did a chit job on field mapping these sleds other then right at 6-8000 ft. from what I have seen....

I can't figure out how to print the screen. Left to right is throttle position in 10% increments. Top to bottom is 500 rpm to 9500. This is my sled with an slp pipe and is working, it is not the perfect map but we're getting there. You can see that there is a ton of differences from stock.

it will keep heppenning til you figure out why, it could have a air leak, you could be holding the throttle in one spot in the mid range slapping a new top end won't fix the problem it will just make it so you will have to do it a 3rd time

if i am reading your map correctly, it looks like you are pulling fuel from the mid rpms/midrange. if that is true i would be very careful about doing that.

Trust me, I am constantly looking at my EGT's and rpm's. W/O the PCV, I was seeing egts that were 60 degrees higher and the plugs were definitely lighter in color. I have about 400 miles so far this year already and so far so good. I didn't have that success last year.

Mine seized this morning (09 800 Assault) not sure which side but im taking it to the dealer in the morning. Felt like a seize and not a burn down. I have the blue star waranty and I'm praying their going to fix it. They said manufaturer defects only but I DID NOTHING TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Warmed it up time the engine temp was 110 and rode about half throttle but was verrying it to keep it safe 4 miles from the truck lost power tried to keep going once and seized in about five seconds. LAME!!

My throttlebody adapter delaminated and caused a major air leak, which seized the mag side piston, and also threw a piece of the piston through the case...wonderful. I have 1700 miles, update was done last year. Might be something to watch, maybe look at one of the billet throttlebody adapters. Obviously, the sled was running GREAT right before it lost power.
