I Need a Computer,(ECU) 09 M8 Help

Was Back firing at 3/4 throttle, unplgged everything, checked stator resistanes all good. Tried a buddies ECU from a 2010 M8, works beautifully.

Priced out new ECU .......YIKES $1800.00.

So anyone rebiulding these or is there after market, or someone wrecking a 09-10 M8???????????

Help please.

That's ridiculously priced. Watch eBay here's a 11 for $359 I know it's not the right year but just an example of price. I don't know if the 09 is a unique year because of the engine reverse and non HO motor.

You can buy an older ecu from an M8 and have it flashed to the 09 program. Cat will flash them to newer programs but I dont think they will flash to older ones is what I've heard.

That I do not know, I just remember guys getting their old firecat ecus flashed to the newer maps.

I put a post in the swapmeet section of this site because I thought I might need an ECU and got a couple replys. Never ended up getting a price since I didnt need it, but yeah, just post in there youll get one
