GPS format?

What GPS format is everyone using? We talked to search and rescue one time and they told us to use hddd'mm.mmm' but my spot messenger uses hddd.ddddd' If search and rescue or friends are looking for us are on a different format it can be confusing and lead to a wrong area.

i and my riding and hunting partners all run hddd'mm.mmm format, but it is easy to change over.

yeah, pretty easy to convert between 'em. Most GPS's allow you to change between DMS, D.DDD, DM.MM, as well as the obscure ones (Maidenhead, MGRS are the two that come to mind).

I usually keep my GPS in DD.DDDDD°; makes math real easy when I have to do that... but I don't look at that often. I let the computer figure it out; they do it a lot better/faster than I do.
