if you use water or liquid, the puller doesnt even touch the shaft!

you cant compress liquids, and when pressurized the liquid will wanna seep between the clutch and the shaft which also helps pop it off!

Had a buddy who was gunna take a die grinder to his 1000 big bore after wrecking 2 pullers, cut one down, tipped it on its side filled full of oil (which only makes more of a mess) and it came off with little effort!

I have bent pullers trying to get a clutch off and then used the bent puller with the water trick and popped them right off....definitely worth a try. I always use water now.

This will get er off!

Ok. They can be stubborn, but easisest way is:

Make sure threads are well lubricated (and pilot that will twist on crank stub shaft also)

Torque it in ther as tight as you can (a couple raps with a good impact works good)

Give it two to three good smacks with a steel hammer, straight on the end of the puller head. You will notice the puller head has a little bump machined in the end. that's what it's for.

If it doesn't pop right off with 2-3 wacks, retorque again and re-apply hammer to puller.

If you do this two to three times it is guarenteed to come off. If it doesn't your not torquing your puller in tight enough.

Make sure you are well lubricated to maximize your pullers ability to create pressure/Torque.
