Can you believe it? Is winter 2016-2017 nearly here??? Well, Judging by the 7” of wet snow we received as shown here in town Bozeman on the 11<sup>th</sup> of October – we’re excited to say YES winter is definitely coming!! It was also quite nice to be riding single track dirtbike on Labor Day at 9000’ through a few inches of snow across rocky slopes in early September to wet the whistle whilst awaiting winter…

A question I always get different answers on is about your auto tune. I have been told that is changes fuel maps on the fly depending on conditions... That it is something you can not see how it is changing because it does not show on the map.... Is this true... Or do you have to read the changes it wants to make and manually apply them with a phone or computer?

The auto tune feature builds a map and adjusts it real-time as you ride. I believe it is making changes to the base map you have loaded to do this. It also stores the averaged changes and later after you're home you can choose to lock the averaged changes into the stored map position, which then bumps the base map off. Then, ride again and it will make smaller and smaller tweaks to your base map as you chose to "accept trims" into the base map position. The other way you can operate it is to leave your base map as a "low altitude" map or whatever you want map, and then just switch on the auto tune for high altitude operations which will turn on the O2 sniffer and lean out the base map settings accordingly.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is how I've come to understand the operation.

But in short, YES the Autotune runs automatically and applies changes as you ride and you do not Need to accept them for any changes to take effect. You Can choose to accept them as Norma states to place the trims into your main base fuel table, but is not necessary (the resultant output to the injector is a compilation of what is found in the main Fuel table AND the Trim table, along with any global adjustment, start-up fuel, accel routine, etc) - so you can ride with confidence knowing that AT always has your back to keep the fuel burn optimal!
