From the Snowies last year. 97 Summit chassis. 670 from a 93 Mach 1, milled head and bored .030 over. Digi temp gauge, D&R, 144x2, custom drop brackets to get a little more clearance with the running boards.

Powermadd 4" riser and pivot block, so I think 5"+ of total rise, and Powermadd throttle extension.

Last winter was my first time in the Snowies, I went up there for a week over spring break with some friends and had a blast. Usually I ride in the Black Hills or Bighorns up by Bear Lodge.

Here's my '99 X. Went from 136 to 151 with a ZX Skid. Had to move the rear suspension forwar to meet the stock drop bracket. I'm thinking of gearing it down and dropping a driver size. Currently has 21/43 in the chaincase, any gearing input?

Nice lookin Sled

Mine has a 153 track and running 20/43 gearing and works well, good top speed still too. would like to find a bigger bottom gear to gear down some more like a 20/45 but that size bottom gear is tricky to find.

Gearing

I've heard that the ration for the bottom sprocket is about 4:1. Dropping 1 tooth on the top is equal to going up 4 on the bottom. Where did you get your 20 at? The dealer has top and bottom sprockets but they're mucho $$$.

Here are some updated pictures after my new hood and decals. Also shows the cut down windshield and headlight block out. Sled is starting to feel a lot lighter in the front now.

I won't be able to hide the tripple anymore. LOL You can get a pretty good deal on the gear going aftermarket through WPS. They have a 20 tooth gear for about 20-22 bucks.

Where did you get the hood from???

Wildcard, I dunno if you want to gear down. I have tried 20/45 Don't like it. I am going back up to 22/44. The 670 is a Torque monster. Ohh wait, you got a triple. Thats rigth. Well, I have a 45t bottom gear if you want. See, my 670 pull's like MAD in the mid speed area. Really falls flat up top. It LOVES to be loaded up. I have a bud here who has been running 670's for many years. Now has a 153" ZX based 670. Pic of his sled is on my Powdercoating wweb's picture gallery. But anyways, he is runing, and has said 2:1 ratio for the 670. They need to be loaded up. I got 20/44 on there right now, and the 22T is in my stocking for Xmas. We will see.

The reason all the REV's and XP's are geared down so low, is
1) they run 10 tooth driver's, larger diameter to start with, needs lower gearing.
2) they have a MUCH narrower Power band than the old 670's Thats why they allways struggle with clutching. They need the lower gears, to help the engine reach and stay in it's powerband.

I will post my results once I change the sprocket.

Don't have to, you could use r/c car paint on the underside like i did and hide it again, lol, i'll try to get pictures up as soon as i can get my dad to get them off the camera and send them to me:D

As soon as you start them though there is no hiding it to most people. I did get asked a couple times last winter how I got my 670 to sound like that or boy that 670 runs good. LOL!
