Are people saving like 80.00 per belt and getting good results by using the 046??? there are no performance losses ???

Any help would be great

The price diff. is NOT worth it. I think the 046 works better anyway. The 060 is too hard of compound. The biggest key though is proper clutching.

the 060 is softer than the 046

Yes you are right. I posted wrong. My buddy had the 060 to start with on his 1000 It did'nt last very long. Then he tried the 046 and it is working good. After he got his clutching working good he tried the 060 again cause someone said it was better. Again it didn't last very long. Good thing money is not a problem for him.

I've ran both on my '07 M-1000. I have personally had much better luck with the 060. Not only is it softer and slips less, the top side of the 060 is deeper and more aggressive. To me, this helps with airflow and cooling. Last year I wasn't getting much more than 200 miles out of the 046. I got closer to 450 out of the 060. This year I have the '08 3 post primary and am averaging closer to 600 miles with the 060. I still have lots of room for improvement with clutching which should make it even better. In my opinion, use whichever you prefer. Most important, set up your clutching for that belt because they require different setups for optimum performance. .02

Most importantly whichever you have vent the crap outta the clutch side. I added R&M vents as well as the massive Timbersled clutch vents and since then I have yet to blow a belt at over 500 miles on a really really worn out belt. I'm basically maximizing the belt life beyond use despite riding continuous hard pulls and deep snow. I am running the 4 post with the 046 belt. Stick with what works for you, but having the cheap belts working for me keeps a smile on my face. I'm on belt 3 at 1300 miles, due for a new belt. The first two belts were my fault, the first belt lasting 500 miles without venting. The first two belts went from continuous hard pulls up deep powder climbs about 15 times in a row without venting or letting the clutches cool down. I've done that on this belt and all is well, the belt is just getting really worn now, they used to overheat and blow the outer band off.

The 046 seems to like heat and deal with it better than the 060.
People have different clutching, different clutches, 3 post/4 post. Use what works best for you.
I have had much better luck with the 046 using a 3 post.
Switching from one to the other is about a 150-200 RPM difference on my sled. The 046 running higher RPM
The 046 raised RPM right where I wanted it.
