If your not boosted the new gearing is awesome, more grunt and less heat. the 18's ive rode work really well so far.

There is a gearing change warranty bulletin out because the 19 tooth sprocket is hard on chains so I would definatly get a bigger upper sprocket but what size lower sprocket you should use depends on where you ride and what you are running in your clutches.

I think where the ratio is the same you shouldn't have to. But there is the less resistance thing using bigger gears. The only thing you can do is try it and see.
