So I ask my favorite Democrat (my wife) the following question...
On one hand you have an accuser who gives you no reason to not believe her, and on the other hand you have the accused who also gives you no reason to not believe him.
So, who do you believe?

Without even blinking she replied "Aren't we all innocent until proven guilty?"

Our judicial system has never been about guilty or innocent. its about which lawyer tells a more credible story. The more money you can spend on a lawyer the better chances are you will get off free or with a little sentence. They always say if you are guilty go to trial because its easier to persuade a jury the it is one judge

If Brett Kavanaugh is not confirmed, the game is changed FOREVER.

Your sons, nephews and all men will be vulnerable to false accusations because proof is no longer necessary.

And Heaven forbid if anyone is guilty of "gray area" behavior, which likely includes most of us.
The left is now s#itting all over our legal system. Is there anything they won't ruin?

Why would the Dems sink this low you ask?
What is SO important that you would ruin a man's life?
What is so important that you would ruin his family's lives?
Simple, to delay any SC vote in hopes of winning back the House or Senate.

But why?
Simple, to retain the ability to continue legally killing the unborn, those among us whom are unable to defend themselves.

That my friends, is why all the above treachery is justifiable to the members of the Democratic party.

Politicians on both side are rotten, but this has lowered the bar to sub-terrain level.

This is a copy & paste but gets to the point:
There’s nothing Kavanaugh or anybody else can do to change the minds of democrats. They have vowed to resist, obstruct and be uncooperative in every way they can in preventing the Trump administration from conducting the business of government. If Kavanaugh is voted down and another candidate is brought forward, the democrats will do everything in their power to destroy the life of the candidate and their family, their reputation and their future.

The fact that what she's accusing him of may or may not have happened before he even turned 18 is one of the things that galls me most. He was a minor. Get over it. I'm still not convinced either way, but I think going back 36 years is absurd. Do that to every member of congress who's fussing about it. There might be a dozen people left in washington to run the country if you're lucky.

I agree with everything said here. Its complete bulls#^tl what they are doing. But their behavior is become daily routine that we are supposed to live with. Never did I think I would see a president so disrespected. In my opinion, it wouldn't matter who he nominated, they would fight tooth and nail because he nominated him or her. Yet every day, I am growing more and more happy he is in office. He is making changes for the long term that need to be made.

Ok. So I think Brett Kavanaugh should be confirmed & I think what has happened to him is garbage. I agree with what he said in his testimony, that he doesn't doubt that CBF was sexually assaulted, but not by him.

As far as Trump being the most ridiculed / Disrespected President... well if the shoe fits. He doesn't give a S&*^ what comes out of his mouth (or his thumbs as the case may be). If you ask me he is the least respectable president since Clinton. And W had to put up with a lot of mockery as well. More than I think he deserved.

Trump mocking the testimony of CBF in public was crass & serves nothing other than to rile up the opposition to further vitriol, & increase support among the folks who like his crass manner. I'm sure it did absolutely nothing to persuade Alaska & Maine's senators to confirm Kavanaugh, and if it did influence them, it would be adversely.

Also - Republicans really should have expected something like this after not confirming Merrick Garland. Their failure to do that set several BAD precedents. 1 - Its ok to obstruct & delay confirming Supreme court Justices to try to get your way. 2 - The President in power does not really get any say in who gets confirmed to the supreme court. 3 - If you don't like the rules, rewrite them mid-play.

I would rather have a conservative leaning supreme court. But do it in a timely fashion & by the constitution. I am curious if 6 months down the road anyone checks in to CBF & the other accusers bank accounts.

I also just have to say - This picture - She looks like precisely the kind of girl who probably would be assaulted based on insecurities. Not saying Kavanaugh did, but having listened to her testimony, I don't doubt she was sexually assaulted by someone when she was in High School. Trauma messes with memory. 1 in 3 girls have been sexually abused or assaulted by the time they are 18 & 1 in 5 boys.

Having been that 1 in 5, I can see this from both angles. I didn't tell anyone about it until 14 & 20 years after the experiences. I also don't plan on ruining the lives of my abusers who have definitely moved on from where they were, now 28 years removed from the last incident, both of which were related to me & were teenagers when the abuse occurred. One has since died & the other leads a very successful life. I've certainly struggled with what happened to me & have never spoken to either of them about it since. Trump mocking victims is sick. At the same time, remaining a victim is dumb & self destructive. If Kavanaugh did what she said, even if he is confirmed, I think she's had her revenge. You can't mention Clarence Thomas without thinking "Anita Hill." And this goes way beyond the Thomas / Hill hearings in the early 90's. What this whole process from Merrick Garland to now has done is cheapen the Supreme Court.

The bar can't get any lower than Trump, he has made our country the laughingstock of the international community. If abortion is ever outlawed in this country I guess all you people against it will then be willing to support all these unwanted children. Yes that means you will be paying more taxes to support all the additional people who will be on welfare. I'm sure you are all willing to do that...

With that mentality, I guess we should just kill all those on welfare now, and the elderly that are on government subsidies, and anyone else that gets any help from the government. I don’t think it’s accurate to say all the aborted babies will grow up to be on welfare. Many many parents that have an abortion are not on welfare. You can’t say abortion is just removing a fetus. It’s been proven life begins at conception. Legal abortion is just legal killing the unborn. Babies are people too. I feel for those who have made the decision to have an abortion, I would think it would haunt you forever. It’s a horrible thing that we have done as a nation, as it justified and greatly multiplied the abortion rate, as our mentality is “if the government says its legal, then it’s OK. What’s the opposite of pro Life?

Look at us as a country. The murders of police officers have become an everyday occurrence. Extremely violent hurricanes, tornados and other storms have become more commonplace. Cancer, aids and other disease is touching more of our lives.
Don't disregard the possibility that God is allowing us to "reap what we sow".
God hears every unheard scream as we butcher unborn children for the sake of convenience. Can you begin to imagine the profound sadness if you had to witness the murder of just one of your children? Now imagine that their screams never end as the slaying continues around the clock 24-7 365. This from the most blessed nation in the world.

This all makes me sad, ashamed, and honestly scared of what price any of us will pay for not standing up and protecting those most defensless among us. We all share the guilt and shame. We're all complicit.

As long as I'm on a rant, let me continue....
Here's what I see as our future...
Eventually the left will regain power.
They keep the power by promising "free stuff".
They will continue the shift towards socialism.
They dis-arm the US citizens.
They will promote bringing muslims in by hoards.
Muslims have admitted that their plan is to infiltrate and then procreate at a rate which will eventually make them the majority.
Once they are the majority, the US becomes another 3rd world craphole.
Everything we have fought and died for..... Gone.
There are no more new frontiers.
Do you think this sounds dramatic? Tell me how I am wrong please.
Tell me how we chart a more promising course.

Sorry for de-railing the thread.

All other countries are envious of Trump and his success.
Under Trump the economy is thriving, he has negotiated trade deals that benefit the US not foreign interests, he has corrected industry regulation, middle class is making a comeback getting stronger everyday, money previously held offshore by American companies is being returned to be reinvested inside the states, unemployment is way down, the list goes on and on.

Loved it when Trump was at the UN and started his I'm so great speech and everyone laughed. Shows you what the world really thinks... Yes giving the richest a huge tax break while I got an extra $50 a month sure was great. Relaxing environmental standards so corporations can make more money and damage the environment more, another winner. Starting trade wars with other countries so he can appear tough, while causing many American companies to lay off employee's. Businesses like Harley Davidson sending manufacturing jobs overseas because of tariffs imposed against the US because of little donnies "tough stand on trade" another winner. Employment is up, yes it is and has been for the last 8 years, but I'm sure he was responsible for all of that. The list of his accomplishments just goes on and on.

And as for god letting us get what we have coming, what kind of an all knowing all powerful being needs to be worshipped? Wouldn't this all great being who can create an entire universe have better things to do than worry about what a few specs on a tiny little planet are doing? Religion was started as a way to keep control of the masses. There will always be people who need to be led and they are there to do just that.
