Just picked up a 16 Axys built by Boondockers and Dan Adams.

It has 1900 all turboed miles on since new and has the original top end in it.

Still has decent compression and runs great, but I have feeling I'm running on borrowed time.

How many miles have you gotten on yours?
BD says these turbos do not affect long term reliability at all.

go to the turbo forms lots of imfo. their but most of us put a top end on around that just to be safe! but it is very dependent on what boost you run also. top-ends are cheep and easy especially when you compare it to a full rebuild that crank is costly and 5 times the work to put in! some say if your compression is good and sled is still running tits don't touch it....but to me a top-end is cheap insurance I guess to each his own

What do you consider “decent compression”? Did you actually check it? Personally I’d wait until the season is over and then tear it apart when there is plenty of time. Most of the axys motors I’ve checked have 115-120lbs compression.
