Everything seems to running great but when I'm on it and climbing it starts to stutter and back fire into the intake. This is what seems to me anyway. It hits 8000rpm and stays there but 5 to 8 seconds after being above 7600rpm and you hit full throttle bam it starts to miss. Any ideas guys? I would to thank everyone that has replied to my questions, your help is greatly appreciated! Oh running 7lbs at cook city.

Mines doing the exact same thing im only running 5lbs runs great on an off the throttle but soon as you try to hold it wide open for 5 to 10 sec starts to bog. Is yours a 17 or 18?

Can you give me elevation, octane, clutch setup, belt condition?

We have seen this if the belt is slipping under high load, but other things can be the reason too...

Riding in cook city so 9 to 10ft. Silber supplied clutching, 2 1/2 to 3 gallons of AV

Okay. Few things...

1) Like I said, make sure your belt is in good shape. The clutching we provide is working well, and according to our infrared head gun, running at lower temperature compared to stock (pin weight really helps these clutches). However, clutches still get hot and belts can still glaze. Be certain this is not happening as its a surefire way to get slip. Even minimal slip can effect the way the motor is being loaded - especially at high RPM/WOT. Also remember, the RPM gauge may show 8000, but if the slip is quick and then the belt grabs again (hitting the rev limiter briefly) this too can cause exactly what you are talking about. Second suggestion - try a bit more pin weight and maybe a higher clicker setting (if you need to).

2) We obviously don't require you to regap plugs as part of the install. However, it certainly wouldn't hurt to gap them down slightly. This could be a sign that your spark is getting blown out (though in our testing we have not had this happen...)

3) make sure the wastgate is tight, hoses are hooked up, no leaks etc. A small boost leak can create these types of issues too.

Thank you, will check everything over. I did see a peak rpm 8300+ on the recall button.

Det sensor throwing it into limp mode. Might need more octane, less boost or cooler intake temps (intercooler) to make big pulls.

This isn't totally impossible but easy to check. Throw more octane at the motor. Also be sure your wastegate is functioning properly and isn't getting stuck.

Rode today and sled was doing the same thing. However when we went up from 8000ft to 10,000 it seemed to get better at 10. When I got back I added just over 4gal of AV and went back out on the trail thinking that might be the problem. Unfortunately didn't change.

What changes did you make Summit?

Also - can you throw a new belt on there?

I cleaned clutche's and put new belt on and added a little more weight. Now pulling 23 grams of pin weight. I'm not sure how accurate the recall is on the dash gauge but it said 8600. With is crazy, with that being said it still revs to 8100 but then settles to 8000 when climbing.

That would be my guess as well, jump up a few teeth on the top sprocket and I bet it might clear up your over rev..

My stock 175 last time I checked at 8000 feet was up to less than a inch from top of sheives, adding 50 more hp would forsure need a gearing change
