To keep from turning them off or on when not intended, has anyone relocated the handlebar and thumb warmer switches off the handlebars down onto the dash?

I bought those cheap guards the Cat offers and they worked for me.

could you mount other 3pos rocker switches for the warmers? and what about getting an old aluminum throttle block and re locate that also.. would be sweet to see. but limited space elsewhere to mount this stuff haha

You could easily find nice two way switches. Even a couple from a older skidoo. I would not want to cut into my wiring harness though.

You can run the heater switches down by the bottom of the post, on the black plastic... pretty easy to do, just get rocker switches.

I don't use warmers anymore, but if I did, that's how I'd do it. WHen I sell my 11, I'll be doing that so it's easier to market.

The 09 had a racer throttle block, worked very well, especially for finger throttle like I run mine. I prefer that to the stocker when running other bars. If you run other bars with the stock block, you need to cut the part of the block toward the center, to be wider, to accommodate for the fact that the curve starts earlier than a stock set of bars. With the aluminum one obviously you can put it wherever the heck you want.

Keep in mind that if you go aluminum, you lose the throttle safety switch. After watching my wife try to ride out a stuck throttle, then watching her 1000 go for a BIG ride without her... I won't ever ride without a TSS or tether, preferably both (the only reason mine has a stock throttle block now)

The RSI kit looks like one would end up with at least five holes in the hood

$70 for two switches and some connectors and wiring doesn't seem like that great of a value versus homemade.

Doing just this right now, tought I just share with you guys.

Throttle side of bar, killswitch not in place on the picture but it will go on the underside of the mountainbar rubberpiece, out of the way.

rbanan i was just wondering what kind of bracket you have for ur throttle

Hi! I'm just using a powermadd throttleblock, a killswitch from a ktm dirtbike as a reversebutton.

As switches for warmers I'm using 3 ways switches that looks exactly like the RSI's ones.

Will get you guys pics of the location
