12x pull cord pops and releases and hard start

I just remembered a couple more issues that I had last season.

1. My pull cord sometimes slips and pops before grabbing. Is this a sign that my recoil is going to explode prematurely?

2. Sometime my e-tec takes several pulls to finally start. Anyone else have trouble starting an etec?

Many 2012 recoils were overgreased at the factory, in cold temps they will skip. It was a problem covered under base warranty, however, once you get to extended warranty all bets are off as to whether it would be covered
