Picked up a Kitty Cat for my 3 year old daughter to tear around the yard on. Started out the boring black, painted it pink and purple with some decals off ebay. Santa left it on the front deck with a big red bow on it.

Cool, i think i will be ordering the lift kit as well, found this beast on CL accouple weeks ago for a steal ($300). Just in time for his first birthday. Been sitting for 10 years. but should be a good one. Not going to be messing with the paint, but that one above looks great!

Does anyone have experience with these things before and after the lift kit? is it that noticable?

Well, dug into the carb yesterday, and boy. In all of my years of cleaning carbs, I have never, ever seen one in worse condition. It looked great from the outside, but once I got the bowl off to see what was inside, my heart just sank. It sat so long with bad gas turned to varnish that one of the float bowl pin posts corroded at the pin hole. effectively making the carb useless no matter how much I clean it. Ended up finding a NOS one through an AC website for $140. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
And when I went to change the oil in the transfer case, the brake band came unglued and the fabric separated from the band, so there goes another $30. Going to pull the clutch off and finish changing the oil. I sure hope the clutch at least works. But I now have my doubts.
So much for my great deal, but still not totally upside down. Hoping the parts get here soon so I can get this thing motoring...

This thing was neglected big time; I just hope I didn’t find it too late.

Looks okay fron the outside, but inside is just nasty. keep in mind this is after i picked my way down to the bare carb body and removed jets, neetle, and seat and float bowl.

Well, brand new carb, petcock bushing and she fired right up. Runs like a champ! Put new wear bars on it too, along with other cosmetics that i ordered with everything else. I have to say, this thing is faster than what i expected. Have some sharp pinging coming out of the recoil assembly, took it apart to find the opening in the cap where the dogs pivot out was broken beyond where it should be, and was not tucking the dog in far enough. More parts ordered. Super relieved that she is a runner. I’ve been known to throw $$ at basket cases... I can’t wait till he is big enough to give it a go. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Does anyone have experience with the lift kit for these things? Does it really help as much as advertised? Thanks in advance.
