M1000 primary clutch damage - advice

Hi fellas, Long story short, suspect retaining clip for intake screen/hood insulation got into primary and destroyed belt. By the looks of it the 2 halves of the primary sheave contacted each other, with or without clip in between them as there is damage at bottom of sheave. The metal is damaged/flaked pretty good. See pic. Bottom line, is this repairable ... ie can I re-machine to smooth surface and reshim to provide proper belt clearance, etc or am I buying a new clutch? Appreciate any advice. What does a new clutch go for? It may not be worth my while to try and repair.

Surprised no one has seen this before. Talked with 2 other guys today that have m1000`s. They had the same thing happen (sheaves collide) when blowing belt... apparently its quite common. I just repaired the sheaves for now with a file. Not sure its worth it to purchase new clutch if its going to happen again.
