05 vs. 06 pistons

I have my 05 apart and as I recall the 05 pistons have 1/2 moons on the skirt and the 06's are more of a "D" is that correct? Any pics would help, I suspect that a "friend" that sold it to me never told me he had it apart before and why would a 05 have 06 pistons in it. I'm callin the dealer with vins. on monday!:face-icon-small-fro

The 05 piston skirts were weak and they were replaced with the 06's. I don't believe you can even get the 05's, this is a good thing.

Yes I do know that, the deal is my "friend" sold this sled to me as a "updated" sled. I asked if the engine was ever out or tampered with. He said no. So I just need to find out for sure what pistons I have in it, so I can see if he was bs'in' me. part #' has changed and I do know that, I just need to see what the 05's looked like.

These are 05's.. notice the sides by the wrist pin are cut out.. The 06 just have the wrist pin holes.. no cut outs.. Hope this helps..

so yer pic is 05 as well? mine look the same.

If the guy had previous problems and didn't tell me as a good "friend" he should have imo.
I do know the 06's were better than the 05 pistons, had I would have known I would have changed them before one exploded in my jug.

Yes the 05 have the cut outs which are what I have pictured there.. here is a picture of an 06.. No cut outs by the wrist pin. These are what you want.:face-icon-small-hap

If the he told you the motor had never been out or tampered with wouldnt he be telling the truth if the 05 pistons were still in it??
