The proposed updated travel plan is out and posted at https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/shoshone/home/?cid=fseprd501688, the comment period ends Dec. 9 (or maybe Dec. 10, not sure how they count 30 days from Nov. 10, but I'd submit on or before Saturday to be sure).

There are a bunch of changes for both summer and winter motorized use of the forest, but the over-snow seasonal restrictions are significant compared to the status quo:
USFS said:
Create three winter motorized seasons: 1) In the North Zone, seasonal restrictions will be
November 15 to May 15 and all available areas are considered a “high elevation” zone; 2) In the
Wind River District, there would be a “high elevation” zone with a season of November 15 to
April 30 and a “low elevation” zone with a season of December 1 – April 1; 3) In the Washakie
District, there would be a “low elevation” zone with a season of December 1 – April 1.

Personally, I strongly oppose closing high-elevation areas that early when it's common to have substantial roadside snow in June, and noise is a relatively minimal issue given that it's not a remote area to begin with (yes, two-strokes doing laps get obnoxious, but so are the straight-piped Harleys riding by). The full list of changes and the email address for comments is available in the link above; please consider commenting.
