Most of the big twin PSI used cranks made by Rad.
Rad is no longer in buisness, so its hard to get parts for the cranks.
To answer your question though, the Rad cranks were very tough.

Like I've always said....a PSI is a good motor. Mine has made lots of HP for me in the 4 seasons I've run it....the service is another topic.

PSI motors do work but we have looked into reboring cylinders to sizes that we can get pistons for. Don't ask me what fits what but apparently the 1080 PSI can be bored out to 1150 and use cutler pistons.

I think the polaris cased engines were prone to more flex than say the 995 with the different case. Maybe that was part of the crank issue? Were you running an engine plate/stiffener with the 990?

Parts are sure to become scarce. I have a 995 and figure it has a pretty short lifespan. I will be looking for something turbo'd to replace it.

My bad it was a 995 wwith the psi cast case. i beleive some of the issues were poor machine tolerances on the case, and yes i had a stiffner on it. Psi re machined the case 3 time trying to get it right. I finally gave up and moved on.

I was thinking you had a 925?

That's the story with mine. It was born a 1085. The guy punched it out to 1155 and sold it to me.
