Default C Tec

I'm not even sure why I'm asking this other than its a random thought that annoys me every time I read something relating to it.
What is so incredible about this C Tec engine? What is wrong with the one that's not broken? Is is just a cool acronym for an engine. Reminds me of something displayed on the back of a Civic or Accord.
Carry on!

I don't need a new engine either, BUT the Ctec 600 weighs at least 10 pounds less than old 600, any weight removed from from of pro climb is a win win

That is one of the biggest weight penalties between the Poo and Cat. People don't realize that the Cat motor weighs close to 20 pounds more than the Poo motor. The Cat motor is stout. It's why it holds up so well to big bores and turbos.

Default C tec

I have to wonder if the new c tec motor is going to be an 800 or is going to be bigger.
I have no idea what size it'll be but I have to wonder why it didn't come out in 2016 and now in 2017.

My bet is bigger???? 850 860 900 925 950
I hope it's bigger and somewhere between 170-180 HP

I wouldn't be holding my breath for something bigger based on the recent releases. Doesn't the CTEC just more about a cleaner burning motor to meet the new emissions standards??? Probably expect less hp would be the safer bet.
Of course I hope for better out of Cat in the next year but.......

That was my first thought. More emissions on my diesel trucks nets way less efficiency and power.

Scroll down to number 15. Gives you a brief reason its not out yet whether or not its true idk. I would also note the c-tec 600 did have a bit more hp than the previous 600 and is lighter as mentioned above. Obviously the biggest reason for the c-tec engines is to meet future emissions.
