Will these seats work in my 02 mountain cat? My current seat base is connected to the fuel tank. I'm hoping I can just cut the old seat off & replace with one of these... anyone know for sure?

I'm a little confused by your post. My '04 KC should have the exact same stock seat as your '02 MC. My seat wasn't "connected" to the tank though. Just a little lip that would slip under the tank and 2 clips on at the rear.

The WRP seat is listed to fit '02-'06, so you should be able to run the same setup as me.

Just for reference, here's a pic of my '04 KC9 when I first brought it home.
Same sled as pictured above with the WRP seat.

Yeah... my 02 is weird. I looked at the parts breakdown on a 02 and an 03. On the 03 the tank & seat are separate pieces, but on my 02 the tank & seat are one piece. Both years use the same tank wrap, and the tank looks almost identical, so I'm pretty sure I can make it work.

Thanks.

02 Mt Cat(which I own) is still like the older AC sleds-gas tank back to the tail light is all one big molded piece. In 03 the 1M chassis changed to the removable seat so the tank was changed to just the tank with provisions for tabs on the new seat to engage the lower lip of the tank and pins to hold the back in the rear. No big deal though-you just CAREFULLY cut the rear section molded to the tank off using CAUTION not to cut too close to the pinch seams that form the tank-also leave material for mounting tabs on the sides/edges. Then you just bolt down the tabs you left directly to the tunnel(I used round head bolts installed in the tunnel up through for maximum clearance in the tunnel)
