Fred, what year is that?

Because our 2007 Yukon Denali interior is identical without exception.
NO changes at all that I can see.

Just sayin...what have they done to refine or improve it since 2007?

It's a 2012 with 3500km on it. They want $60,000.00 (Canadian of course) it also comes with a 5th wheel hitch in the box. It's a really good deal, considering that this truck is listed at 71,000 retail.

Sorry i wasn't trying to start a **** storm in your thread. It has nothing to do with 1/2 tons either. I was just curios how you could put a 5K camper in a 1 ton SRW and not get ripped a new one by everyone on here... I know that isn't why you started this thread and i am sorry for getting in the middle of it and pointing something out that has nothing to do with your thread.

For what it's worth i would get a SRW Chev LTZ or GMC if i were you!!!! The Dodge is very nice and i would recomend that if you were getting the Mega Cab but if your just getting the Crew then i would get the GM... Hard to beat the Duramax/Allison combo!!!!

Thanks for the input, and there is no hurt feelings. I just have read enough threads about 1/2 tons and sled decks to last me a life time.

Back to topic, I really like the Duramax/Allison combo. I am pricing out SRW in the Denali package. I guess we will see.

I'll try and get back to you but major changes that I can think of from 2007:

-navigation is now hard drive based. It cd based

-blind zone alert is standard

-cooled seats are standard

-heated steering wheel standard

-2nd row of heated seats standard

Wheels have probably been changed as well.

Btw in 2014 there will be a new Sierra, 1/2 ton and 3/4+, new Yukon and XL.

I know they will get the gmc intellilink stereo. Power plants will probably remain the same. Possible 8 speed transmission.

Our Denali has all but cooled seats and Nav hard drive.
We bought it used, so i can't say if those options came with Denali as std or extras.

Hmmm 2007, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12...and 13.
That's not many upgrades or refinements for 6 going on 7 model years later.

That is the ultimate truck in my opinion!!! But i don't think you can get a denali long box unless it is a dually... I could be wrong though

Wish GM would get their frame rails tucked up a bit and add some height. Every GM I owned I put a 4" lift on...just to be level with a stock Ford or Dodge. My new Dodge however...has 35"s with stock suspension. And sits about 2" higher than my Chevy with a 4" and 33's

Don't touch Ford's diesel. I've never met anyone who was happy with it. Dodge got lucky to get the Cummins engine in their trucks. But they have a lot of front end issues and tranny issues are common. The Duramax seems to be over looked because Chevy got into the diesel world a little late but Its a screaming engine. Duramaxes all around in my family and they have 200000+ miles on them. Not one problem. Nothing can compare with the Allison Tranny. We all know that. Chevy got a good deal with Allison on that one. But personally I'm a GM guy. Because they are all around solid. You wouldnt be disappointed with the Duramax. Great gas mileage, chip it and you'll do even better. But I've been told to stay away from anything older than the '07s as they have that EPA crap on them like the particulate filter. You can take them off, just not the easiest thing. Duramax. You wont go wrong. But dont get a power stroke. There is a reason Ford is suing International. The engines dont compete in power or reliability.

Not sure if you miss typed the info or have it confused but pre-2007 GM's don't have any particulate filter or DEF Injection.

Most people don't lift these trucks. There is a group that does but most people buy them to tow. Lifting a truck takes away from towing capacity.

I know guys that hate the stock Dodge height because they wont fit in their garage.

My biggest complaint on the GM diesel is how low the def tank hangs down and no gauge. It has a low light, why not just put a gauge in the electric menu? Not a huge deal for the idiot light gives you plenty of warning. Also if you top off at each oil change you'll never have an issue.

unfortunately def tanks are prob not going away anytime soon. So we all better get used to them. I did read though that in a joint venture between Fiat and cummins they are developing a diesel that doesn't need DEF, EGR, or a DPF. Its going to use fiat's multi-air technology but is just in the testing phases right now. My guess is that it is going to be used in a half ton diesel if anything. Time will tell though.

It was 2 years ago New Years Eve weekend. It had been below zero every night and not very warm during the days. There were several of us camping in a snow park and none of the trucks had been started for several days. The morning we all left the Chevy which is newer than my Dodge would not start. We ended up using my camper generator to plug his block heater in. It took about 30 minutes to get the Chevy started. The Ford was an older Ford which often had cold starting problems. After a jump and some starting fluid it started. My Dodge didn't hesitate.

You Chevy guys always seem a little sensitive... LOL

For years I would have never owned a Dodge, but I probably would not now own any thing else.

Honest truth!! LOL
