I got a '79 Centurion. I rode it as a teen. Crank went out in the original triple 500 so i put in a triple 600 out of a late 80's. Runs good but overheats. Never had that problem with the 500. Cant figure out why it wants to get hot. I believe we also took out the thermostat. Anyone got any Ideas?

IIRC the heat exchangers are larger on the 600 and I believe Polaris added a 3rd exchanger in front of the track. It's been awhile, so I could be out to lunch.

still got it

I believe its circulating because when I was on the mtn i had to put a lil snow in there to get some fluids back in it and when it melted you could see the fluid running through the tube.

I wonder if i will have to try and plumb in a 3rd exchanger then. I believe my dad has the chassis it came outta still.

Yes I still have the complete 500 still. Never touched it. Just pulled it and set it in the shop. Been sittin there for about 10 years or so. I am going to try and find bearings for it and drop it back in. Thus eliminating the 600 if I ever get the parts.
