Fuel Out/TPS settings on Boost-it

Does anyone have some info on the Fuel Out/TPS settings on the XIC box?

I'm having a stumbling issue on my Boost-it and the only way I can make it better (but can't get rid of it) is to lower my setting to 10 and the INJ Lag to 0. Neil said I should be between 5 and 10 on my INJ Lag, so I'm confused why it makes it run so bad with that setting.

AFR at elevation was between 11.5 and 12.5, but it wasn’t steady, but when I got down closer to the truck the numbers went to about 10 to 11 at WOT. Played with the main fuel numbers and couldn’t get it steady. Main fuel was at 65 but was way too rich (9 AFR), and I had to move it down to about 60.

I couldn’t get the bog out of it though. The only way I could make it better was to drop the injector lag to 0 and TPS setting to 10. With it at that setting the bog was gone only with a smooth roll-on. If I mash the throttle from idle or get out of the gas and back on fast it gets a REAL bad sputter, and the AEM wideband gauge actually temporarily has three dashes across it before it starts to read again. I can’t tell if when the gauge is not reading if it’s too lean or too rich.

I can’t figure out how to get this set right, do you think I might have messed up a hidden setting. I’m not sure if I’m mistaking a rich bog or a lean sputter. I would also like to get a steadier AFR reading than between 10 to 12.5.

Seems pretty low on your main fuel. I think mine is @ 66. When I get home tonight ill look at my settings and post them.

Yeah Neil started me at 70 when he came down to ride, but my pulleys that MPI sent me were wrong, so I wasn't making any boost, which made it hard to set the box.

Got the right pulleys and now I'm making about 10 pounds, but the sled is running like crap, and I can't figure out what needs to be changed.

Your settings are probably where I need to be because you ride in the same areas, what kind of boost are you running?

PS Did you get your sled fixed? I tore the front end of my sled the first trip out in the Horns this year.

Yeah sleds fixed. Right now im only running 10# with the new motor. So your the one in cody huh. Wish I could have made that trip. I did notice I had to come down from where Neil started me but I normally run 16-18#. Ill definitely send you my settings. Had the sled working really well within a few moments.

Yeah he said the settings were for MUCH lower elevation. We went to Top of the World, and he was surprised at how high we were.

Even his Nypex was really low on power (according to him, it still pulled my arms out of socket :face-icon-small-win).

I just talked to Neil, he said he's going to send me a new box. The 2-strokes have a need for extra fuel when throttle is opened quickly, he said I might need that one because I'm running a SC and not a turbo.

Hopefully it works, this thing screams, but as you know when the throttle bobbles on the Apex, it tends to bruise the chest and sternum. :face-icon-small-fro

But I'll still put your numbers into the new box, cause they are probably perfect for elevation here.

Are you sure your threshold is set low enough, I've had mine at -2.6 at times. Seees to like fuel in vacuum. I would think a supercharger would need fuel earlier? Are you hooked up to the barometric pressure sensor?

Yep, hooked to the one on the ECU bracket. Neil said the same thing, that maybe I should start puking fuel at it before the boost comes on as well.

The thing that is weird is that it acts like it's getting too much fuel, almost like it's flooded before it catches back up.

It runs like a raped ape at high rpm and slow throttle roll on. But if I jam it from idle or get off the gas and back on real quick, it slams me into the bars pretty hard.

what are you running this on and rear or front mount. I had to change my stock fuel pump to an apex fuel pump as well as put a rising rate reg in. Dean did the set up and had to set it up like we were running a big boost kit.

Last week had it out at cattarack creek and ran like crap at 5-6000rpm, but hit the boost and bingo....green on the afr and ran like a champ.

It's an Apex with stock regulator and a supercharger.

Your not running an RB3 too are you? My main fuel is at 75, i have a built motor tho.

The problem duke is i believe you guys run alot lower elevation and im sure your running more then 10# boost. Im running a turbo setup currently @ 10# to break in my built motor and im pretty sure my fuel is 66 or 67. Had a long night before i got home otherwise i would have looked at my settings for yah. Ill make sure to get them tomorrow. Id try adding fuel sooner like stated before
