It was a great beacon about 10 years ago. I would suggest a newer digital beacon, they are much easier to use and faster. Mike Duffy-avalanche instructor

If you are just worried about being found, make sure it is not old, and out dated (frequency).

But if you are concerned about your buddies. It'll cost you a little more to get one that is a lot easier to locate with.

Now is the time to shop around and find deals

I picked up a couple of tracker dts from backcountry.com last year. Good company to work with, reasonably priced.
