I am looking at doing the same here , how do the grippers handle? Similar to the DS2?

When I tried Grippers they are similar but different a bit better in some situations -- at the end not enough gain for messing with what works. Or else go all the way with a aftermarket ski that makes the difference you are looking for. Just my 2 cents worth, I had all 3 on sleds to try at the same time last year that what sold me.

Only 8" that is The Powder hound.
The 7" does not have enough Keel for deep long track sleds do not confuse them they are way different. I would use them on a cross over sled only.
