Anyone care to share their experiences with drive/driven springs, helixes, and weights on this kit?

Looking for information on 7# 8-11k but interested to hear any/all experiences.

Kit came with Polaris #7041988 Almond/Red 165/310 drive spring, Team Black/White 160/260 driven spring utilizing stock straight 40 helix, and 64-80 mag adj weights.

I'm running their clutching on one axys and speed shop Inc on my other both have silber... I ride 4000-8000 feet in Washington state and mine is spot on. At your elevation you should b close too. May need fine tune a tiny bit but doubt it will take much

The Axys IMO loves the 8350 range... Really pulls hard in this range.

The 2015/16 Kit ran a:
Pink 180/320 primary
Black/Lime Green 180/300 Secondary
42/46 Helix.
This kit either had you use Polaris weights or came with Rooster adjustable weights. I had to get tungsten washers to obtain enough weight with the roosters.

The 2016/2017 Kit uses a:
Almond/Red 165/310 primary
Black/White 160/260 secondary
OEM straight 40 helix.
This kit comes with SSI adjustable weights.

Now for Alaska we start at 80 grams and go up so we need the SSI 78-90 Gram Pro Mag Weights. SSI sells three kits, 52-68, 64-80 and 78-90.

Last season I ran the 15/16 set up on 5 lbs with 86 grams @2200' and it pulled 8350-8450 perfectly. 7 lbs was too much and it over reved pretty bad. Now at 5500-7000 the 7 pulled nice.

This season I am going with the 16/17 set up but keeping my steeper helix as we believe it needs it. Also I am changing my gearing from the 19/44 to 20/43 in hopes to but more load on the clutching also provide more track speed since this sled pull through anything extremely quick right now.

So if I'm hearing you correctly if you get the 16/17 setup, you get shorted the helix but in your opinion, it still needs it? That sucks...I have the 16/17 setup without a helix

That is IMO.... Yet to be proved by my self. Justin has done a lot of testing and found the 40 worked. With my elevation and air density we are running more weight than most and I want to bring that down. Hoping with the new springs and steeper angle I will accomplish that.

Can buy a TEAM helix for less than $100. Those SSI weights are spendy.

So at 9-11K elevation probably,,,,,, so I think like a 140-330 and 70's with the stock 2016 secondary? Buddy has the same kit and sled and he has 72's but only revving 81-8200 from what I'm hearing 83-8400 sounds faster?

That is incorrect. We tested all the different setups and felt the stock helix performed really close to our custom cut one. If you want it they are still available but do not come standard. The weights may vary depending on when kits are ordered. We have a few suppliers and have been buying them all out this season, same with clutch Springs.

Which 70's? The 10 series? Seems most running the 7# spring are running 74-76 gram weights and seeing 8300+ rpms.

They like the 8350 range!

Crazy how much the elevation changes things... Seeing I am running 86 grams at 3000 feet wit the 5 pound spring and pulling 8350.

How so? Profile seems to be damn near the exact same.

SSI weights aside...heard a lot of reports of either 10-74 or 10-76 at 8-11k ft pulling the R's.

Not even close. SSI are way more heal bias and hence run more weight.

Are you sure about that? Boondocker Sidekick comes with 10-70's... MTNTK intercooled pump gas kit comes with 10-72's...

The profile...shift profile. Should know here soon. I'll report back with #'s. I'm curious as well so might tune with the included SSI weights then swap with equivalent 10 series and see what happens. Unfortunately for myself...right now none of it is personal experience.
