Payette National Forest proposes a "trade" to give back country skiers the entirety of one of our best local areas to ride snowmachines in exchange for two mountains that are:
A) Not for anyone except expert level riders
B) Too far from the parking lot, takes extra fuel and daylight to get there.
C) Were the two mountains they took away from snowmachines in 2004.

This will essentially cut us off from one of the best mountains we have around where we can take our friends, our spouses as well as our children for recreational use of our snowmachines.

There are over 4 million acres (and counting...) in Idaho where snowmachines are not allowed.
There are exactly 0 acres where the back country skiers are not allowed.

If you care about this issue there is a meeting Wednesday, September 28 from 6-8pm, at the PNF Supervisor's building behind Lardo's Grill in McCall.

Which person should we email/contact to support snowmobiles? (for those not local but wish to ride the area)

You can call Jane Cropp at 208-634-0757 or send a letter to the Payette National Forest Public Affairs Office, 800 W. Lakeside Ave, McCall ID 83638. She is the Payette National Forest recreation director and she is very anti-motorized.
Try to get all your friends to make calls and send letters. The more we voice our oposition the better the chance of heading this off before it is implimented.
