I saw earlier that Brandy Floyd sp? Will be on Yamaha this year.
But I suppose it is still too heavy for you guys right?

BAM!

Beat by a girl...

Professionals usually just follow what they figure is the best deal whether they are sled riders or pro football players. Loyalty rarely figures in and even companies with poor products pay to have professionals promote them. Is it possible that Cris is a little bigger name with a little more time in the game so he gets the ride with the #1 seller while Brandy scores a great deal from Yammi as she continues to gain in popularity? Seems like everybody wins, so who cares who they ride for? Seriously?

Haha. No winch required. I've been riding turbo yammys since 04. If you know how to ride you rarely get stuck, and when you do, no winch required.

If you're not getting stuck, you're not pushing your limits. Not pushing your limits means never getting any better, never getting any better means you just chill on the flats and watch us all have our fun. Regardless of what brand your sitting on.

CB will likely be on and testing the new platform for '16 RMK...Yamaha can't seem to do anything right anymore. The spring power surge was nice for the MTX, but a big miss for the flatlands by not offering boost.

Wrong! While it wasn't offered initially, sea level guys can now run a low boost(~4psi)(+40HP=175HP) factory approved kit this season. All they have to do if modify their spring power surge program with the dealer, $2200 and their on their way!

I completely agree I didn't know yamaha didn't offer boost in a flatland version BiG MISTAKE.....The only thing new coming from Poo is a lite weight crank that somehow increase HP and saves weight. :face-icon-small-win

I completely disagree when your a good rider and you ride a lot you challenge yourself and your buddies in the steep & deep to not get stuck....At the end of the day the one with the most stucks ends up buying the beer & burgers...When your riding with a group of good riders it's competitive RULE #1 don't be getting stuck I only bought along 2 sets of gloves. :face-icon-small-hap

That one is easy to win. Just don't do anything fun. I'll gladly buy the beer, but offer a counter challenge... Go where I go, if I get stuck and you don't, beers on me, if we both get stuck beers on you.

I'm wrong?! So a turbo was offered in the spring? :face-icon-small-con

It's probably because of guys like me pressuring dealers to share the boost love last spring that yamaha offered this now which IMO is an admission of their mistake. It still doesn't help us who didn't snow check a Viper and actually pisses me off. If yamaha offered snow check pricing, LE's, and BOOST; my checkbook would come out! :yield:

They might be a little bit late to the game, but they are offering boost for ALL of the vipers.

Yamaha Motor Canada Announces MPI Turbo Kits Now Available For SRViper Trail Series.

Reduced pricing on kits available with purchase of a Viper until December 31st.

September 15th, 2014 (Toronto, ON) – Yamaha Motor Canada is proud to release the Mountain Performance Incorporated (MPI) Trail Turbo Accessory Kit for Yamaha SRViper models. Snowmobilers who purchase a 2014 or 2015 Viper Trail or Crossover snowmobile before December 31 will qualify for reduced pricing of $3,200, down from an MSRP of $4,195, as part of their purchase - if they select the Turbo option. Complete information on this promotion and all other Yamaha snowmobile sales programs can be found at yamaha-motor.ca. The standard Yamaha warranty still applies to the entire snowmobile, with the exception of the MPI kit parts. Kit parts are warranted by MPI for 12 months. Kit must be installed by an authorized Yamaha dealer to be eligible for a warranty claim.*

Mountain Performance has developed a proven track record for “boosted” Yamaha performance with its turbo and supercharger applications. Earlier this year, Yamaha announced the introduction of an MPI accessory turbo kit for the all-new SRViper M-TX. During Yamaha’s Spring Power Surge, Yamaha customers could purchase the MPI kit in conjunction with a new M-TX at a considerable savings. The dealer-installed kit delivers an additional 45-horsepower on pump gas while still retaining Yamaha’s legendary reputation for reliability.

The new MPI Trail Turbo accessory kit for 2014 and 2015 SRViper R-TX, L-TX, X-TX and S-TX models touts many of the same features of the Mountain Kit including the same 45-horsepower boost, while differing in its use of an electronically controlled waste gate. The sea-level turbo kit was developed specifically for applications below 6,000-feet. Both the Trail and Mountain kits feature a solid mounting system and a new muffler that is quieter than previous designs; both systems also meet EPA standards.
“Ever since we introduced the MPI Mountain Turbo Kit for the new M-TX this spring, everyone has been asking for a sea-level version,” said Yamaha US Product Manager Rob Powers. “The guys at MPI have been working all summer on this new kit…we didn’t want to compromise power or reliability, which was a real challenge, but we got there and riders are going to be blown away by the power and ride-ability of this system.”
The new MPI Trail Turbo Kit will be available at Yamaha dealerships in late fall.

MPI Trail Turbo Kit – Part Number: SMA-8JP17-00-TB – MSRP: $4,195

*While installation of this kit will not “void” your snowmobile’s warranty, specific failures determined by Yamaha to have resulted from installation of kit components or other modifications may not be covered by the Yamaha limited warranty or extended service coverage.

And like we have all been discussing since my 4 child was born many moons ago. Power 2 Weight is why Polaris dominates in the mountain segment.....it a lot easier to sell "easiest sled to ride " than "smooth maintenance free ".
