Seized a rod bearing on my non VES 01. Has anyone put in an 02 to 05 VES 800? If so what about jets, cdi, pipes, etc.

Or should I replace it with like kind and not open up a can of wormage.

The VES will bolt right in. Y Pipe is different as well as carb adapters due to the fact that the VES motors were mounted tipped forward. Use the carb adapters off the 01. I have a Y pipe that will work with a SLP single pipe. Use the VES CDI and 03 jetting spec (02 was different). Needles, mains and idle jets. That's about it. You may also need the wire harness between the CDI and the chassis.

PS I put a VES in a 01 700 chassis.

Thanks Gary

Still looking at options. But as far as complete used engines go, it seems there are 3 or 4 VES ones to every non VES one I see.

Probably more sold because they were 02-05 where the non VES 800 was 2000-2001. The non VES cylinders should go on a VES bottom end. Polaris actually offered a kit to go the other way. (VES on a non VES)
