Just installed my PA 13.6 head. Anyone else who has done this check their compression? If so what are you seeing?? I checked and im not sure i can rely on my compression tester, but it looked like at 3 cold pulls i was seeing around 128psi... Is that about right, i know these cfi motors had rather low compression for an 800...

That should be right the CFI engine only makes around 105 lbs stock and a 13.6 head will add around 20 lbs so it sounds right on the money.

compression

I am at sea level... and stupidly didnt check compression before changing the head. I was under the impressoin that a stock cfi motor would be normally around 115-120 so I was thinking that 125-7 was kind of low for this ratio of head. Feel free to help straighten me out if im backwards thinking... (hehe) my mind is blown already for the week and we leave to go out west on monday.

13.1 head #'s

I am at roughly 2000 ft at home. Stock the sled was 120-125 psi on my guage. With the 13.1 head it jumped up to 140-145 psi. This was cold with the throttle open. 4-5 pulls.

Were you doing the test with wide open throttle? this could explain the low result...You need also to make sure that the gauge is really tight. On mine I have to do it by hand then use a plier to give it a bit more other wise I have bad readings...

3 pulls of the rope is probably not enough to see full results. Pull the plugs, hold the throttle and pull it over untill the gauge stops going up.
