RMK Thermostat rig

I've got a 1999 RMK 700 and I'm thinking of removing the thermostat. I realize you have to keep the shell of the stat to get a good seal. I've done this on Ski Doos and all my previous Polaris's have not had a thermostat.

Anyone done this? Anyone know how particular these motors are to being at the right temp?
