I have a 06 mountain vector with a mpi super charger 10 pounds of boost it has 900 miles on the sled with a bad bottom end noise how long do these motors last. Just wondering if this normal or a freak thing. Any help would be great thanx. Dave

IMO that was a freak thing today.your setup looks right and that sled should be good for 15lbs of boost with no prob. good luck with the fix.:face-icon-small-dis

Cam chain tensioner?? they were known to go bad on that year and will make a lot of noise.

OR an oil related engine failure...did you ever run it low on oil? or roll sled over then rev it up and take off before it gets oil pressure back? if this is a possibility you probably spun a bearing and its a matter of time before you throw a rod if you keep running it.

The Vector motor doesn't like detonation, instead of melting holes in the pistons, it greases the big end rod bearing, if you let it go, it will loosen off the rod cap then the rod will pop off the crank and get jammed between the crank journal and the block and port it, ruining the block, right now you can put in a new crank, a rod and bearings and you're into the fix for about 1200 in parts.
