Not to revive a thread from the dead, but isn't the spec for engagement RPM 5000 per the manual? If not I've been abusing mine for some time...

EDIT:
I checked the 99 service manual and engagement RPM is 4800 for the 600EFI, 5000 for the 500EFI and 3500 for the 580EFI Pantera engine.
