FINALLY got all the chassis work done on my IQr mountain hybrid. It is an 05 IQr bulkhead with 08 RMK front suspension, Tunnel and rear suspension. I bought the project in a pile of parts off craig's list and started making it work. In order to run the IQr large tank, the right side coolant outlet on the tunnel had to be moved forward 1". To run the 2.4" paddle, the front cooler was removed. It will only be a 600HO so the tunnel cooling should be enough. I used the IQr foot wells, but had to make an extra support for the RMK boards to bolt to. Here are some pics.

I think that's the first IQR with a Dragon tunnel that I've seen. Most peeps go with aftermarket.

yup

Looking to build a functional, strong, reliable mountain sled on a budget. If I like the way this one rides, I am going to do another one with an aftermarket tunnel and suspension. For now, I have an 600HO RMK IQr that should be a hoot to ride.

Money ?

I haven't sat down and tallied every slip, but with the new slydog powder hounds and the crankshop twins, I have roughly $4900 into it. The Tunnel, Suspension, Track and Motor all have 0 Miles. As for my time? Probably 2 solid weeks (2 months of nights) of trying and retrying.

Add a little more to that and get yourself some Better Boards.. you will love em.

That is really nice, I like it!

How did you come up with a stock tunnel? My wife keeps buggin me for one of these. Everytime she sees a black one, she gets all googly eye'd.

Bought a bunch of parts from someone who works at polaris. That's where I got the skid, tunnel and front suspension.

I'm going to guess that is JUST in parts...not including the chassis.

tally thus far

1 dissasembled 05 IQ racer minus 440 motor w/NEW rmk tunnel/track/suspension/HO600 Motor-$4200 Cash

1 Slydog powderhounds with mounts and shipping...a little under $300

1 Set of take of Crankshop IQR pipes-$400 shipped

I still need a choke cable, temps sensor, and some misc. nuts, bolts and brackets, but i should have it buttoned up and ripping for a little over $5000. Granted the little things like suspension mount bolts, front exhaust bracket, 10-60 clutch wieghts, EPI gold spring, I had on my shelf in the shop. So i kinda cheated there.
