Just got my '08 Service Manual and ran across the following specs. Seems like the 800 is going to full open too late at 7800 rpm (low altitude) or 8100 rpm (high altitude)?

Arctic Power Valve (APV) System Specifications

NOTE: The servo will activate once at APV cycle RPM. If the servo cycles three times, cable length adjustment or valve inspection is required.

NOTE: The 800 cc and 1000 cc have a three-stage exhaust valve system. The stages are closed, midopen, and full-open. Each model has a designated RPM at which the system is synchronized and checked by the ECU for proper operation. This occurs once each time the engine is started. The 800 cc system is checked at 4800 RPM and the 1000 cc system is checked at 6100 RPM (Crossfire/F-Series) or at 6270 RPM (M-Series).

ENGINE | VALVE POSITION | CYCLE RPM
600 cc | Full-Open | 73-7400 (Low/High Alt)
------------------------------------------
800 cc | Mid-Open | 60-6500 (Low/High Alt)
800 cc | Full-Open | 78-8100 (Low/High Alt)
------------------------------------------
1000 cc | Mid-Open | 6300 (Low/High Alt)
1000 cc | Full-Open | 6500 (Low/High Alt)

APV CABLE LENGTH
ENGINE | LENGTH
600 cc | 36.0 mm (1.417 in.)
± 1 mm (0.039 in.)
800/1000 cc | 35.0 mm (1.377 in.) ± 1 mm (0.039 in.)

must be a mis-print. seems way too high. i set my cables around 32 mm. length isnt as much an issue as long as they are equal or within 0.5mm.

34.8-35.2 are the cable parameters on 2007-2008 800 and 1000's. The two valve positions are partial and full. These specs are correct.;)

How about more than a ;) on the 8100. Seems like there's power on the table to exploited with the right combination of parts to get it to pull at 8100 eh?

Sorry, I had something in my eye. With some porting and the right exhaust there is a LOT of power on the table.:face-icon-small-win

You can adjust the fully open rpm, but a stocker should run better with them partially closed. I haven't personally messed with this yet, it's just what I was told.
The tell-tell signs with the APV, the stock Y-pipe/exhaust match-up, and the RPM's are signs that this motor needs porting.

I think CPC and the Attitude box has found this power on my M8. Dale aimed me at getting my rpm's up to 8100, but on the mountain I'm pulling 7900 and setting the "FULL THROTTLE" opening down to that 7900-8000 range and I can feel that on most climbs when I'm reaching the magic 7900. It feels like a shot of nos when that 156" extreme is hookin up!

Really liking the Attitude Industries box! I find more power each day out. And now there's good snow to ride!!!!!
